Glovo, a Spanish on-demand delivery app. Glovo operated as a key player in the Argentine courier and food delivery sector, connecting users with restaurants, pharmacies, and shops.

In September 2020, Delivery Hero acquired Glovo’s Latin American business to consolidate its market position, particularly strengthening PedidosYa's presence in Argentina. The sale allowed Glovo to focus on its primary markets in Europe and Africa.

Before exiting the market, Glovo undertook the clearance of one of their distribution depots.

We led the full recovery and material extraction process, intercepting over 1,027 delivery bags—systematically dismantled and upcycled at an 87% recovery rate. In parallel, 397 m² of textile from their uniforms was reclaimed and transformed. Both material streams—delivery bags and uniforms—were upcycled into tote bags, backpacks, and pouches.

This project activated local manufacturing capacity and generated skilled employment through specialised upcycling processes, extending impact beyond material recovery.

Production was carried out within community-based workshops, where underutilised industrial capabilities are reactivated as hubs for craftsmanship, training, and inclusive economic participation.
